Registration
welcome families!
We are so excited to have you as a part of our Goodwin University Magnet School System (GUMSS) community. The registration process begins the moment you receive an offer to one of our schools or programs and we will be in constant contact every step of the way. Be sure to have access to your email and regularly check your spam folders in case our emails get lost there. Feel free to reach out to us at anytime by emailing registration@goodwinmagnetsystem.org!
Thank you so much for choosing GUMSS!

Apply
Explore the wide range of schools and program options to find the right fit for your child and your family. All of your options are listed at chooseyourschool.org!
Choose and Rank! Narrow down your selections based on your preferences and eligibility.
Apply during the on-time period for the best chance of a placement. The On-time Application Period is from December 3, 2024 - February 7, 2025. In mid-March 2025, the late application opens on a limited basis.
First Round Placement Announcements will be made in March. You will either receive a placement offer or you will not.
Offer
Once the on-time application closes, offers will begin being made in March.
If you receive an offer, this is your only offer for this year's placement process. Your application will be taken off of the waitlist for all other magnet, Open Choice, and CTECS schools.
In order to respond to your offer, please follow the below steps:
- Go to chooseyourschool.org and login.
- Go to Your Dashboard and download your notification letter from the Documents section under Tools.
- Select View Offer on the student card or on the application card for the program with the placement offer.
- Select Accept or Deny by the deadline. You will receive a confirmation message from Enrollwise after you make your selection.
If you are notified that your application has been waitlisted, no action is required from you, but you can edit your application, change your choice order, and add new selections.
If you do not receive a placement offer by October 1, your application will become inactive and waitlists will expire.
Accept
If you do receive a placement offer, you can either:
- Accept Your Offer and Register! You will need to accept your offer and register within a specified time frame to keep your seat. The school you were offered a seat at or our Central Office team will share registration requirements with you.
OR
- Decline Your Offer. If you decline an offer, you are no longer eligible for a placement, but can reapply for the next school year.
Pre-Reg
Our pre-registration process puts you in our PowerSchool Queue. Pre-registration requires you to submit Student, Household, and Guardian Information that should only take a few minutes for you to complete.
Once you have submitted your pre-registration, we will confirm all of your information matches your RSCO application. If your information matches, you will be notified of the approval and will receive information from GUMSS as to what your next steps are. If your information does not match the information you included in your RSCO application, you will be notified by GUMSS and will be told to contact RSCO for more assistance. You can reach RSCO at (860) 713-6990.
Enroll
Upon approval of your pre-registration, you will receive an email with instructions on how to proceed with enrollment. You will first be prompted to create a PowerSchool account and then attach your scholar to your account using an access code that can be found in the previously mentioned instructional email. For further instruction on how to create a PowerSchool account, please click here.
Once you are logged into your PowerSchool account, click "Forms" on the tool bar on the left side of the screen. You will then select the "Enrollment" tab to begin your enrollment. The system will guide you through multiple sections, which include, Contacts, Demographics, Health and Medical, Home Language Survey, Income Form, Permissions, Release of Student Records, and Residency Verification.
